Due the COVID-19 pandemic, many events around the world were cancelled, including events in Iceland where the first edition of the GECO Summer School was going to take place. The Summer School was programmed in conjunction with the World Geothermal Congress which was also postponed due to the pandemic.
We did a first rescheduling attempt in 2021, keeping the conjunction with the WGC2020+1, however, since the uncertainty regarding travels and attendance is still high due to the ongoing global health situation, we are announcing a new plan for the event.
It was decided therefore to postpone the GECO Summer School to Spring-Summer 2022. It will be a 1-2 week event, with a extensive and exciting program delivering a full GECO experience, with field trips to some of the demonstration sites and a great close learning experience with experts in the CCSU field in geothermal!
